چکیده
Recent years have witnessed an improvement in the energy efficiency of capacitive sensor interfaces by more than three orders magnitude. This article reviews architectural and circuit innovations that contributed to this progress. The fundamental limit on consumption is discussed, as well widely used figure-of-merit (FoM). Interfaces based period modulation feature simple circuitry, but their power at higher resolution deteriorates. Those employing ?? achieve high with improved require operational transconductance amplifiers do not easily scale process supply voltage. using successive approximation techniques mostly digital circuitry achieving good medium resolution. To resolution, they can also be employed front-end a hybrid architecture, where back-end or voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) performs fine measurement front-end's residue, resulting excellent simultaneously.

متن کاملCapacitive Interfaces For
Surface micromachining has become an established technology for inertial sensing. Compatibility with standard IC fabrication processes enables monolithic integration of the sensing element and interface electronics for reduced size and power dissipation, simplified packaging, and increased functionality. The need to resolve sub-Angstrom displacements poses a challenge on the interface. Capaciti...
متن کاملA capacitive RF power sensor based on MEMS technology
Wideband 100 kHz–4 GHz power sensors are presented, which are based on sensing the electrostatic force between an RF signal line and a suspended membrane. The electrostatic force, which is proportional to the square of the rms signal voltage and thus to the signal power, results in a displacement of the suspended membrane. This displacement is detected capacitively, allowing the sensing of the ...

Imagine that the technical development can change the ultrasound measurement systems used for fetus feature detection from the large piece of machinery today, to a wireless coin size system tomorrow. The factor that has reduced the size of electronic systems over time is integration and integrated circuits. In this thesis circuit simulator models of complete ultrasound systems are used to desig...
